The basic architecture of a construction company

The main task of a construction company is building or creating infrastructure or a facility. Multitasking is the core of any construction company. One can’t build or construct a building without team work.
Construction is not a simple task. It needs a specific planning to build a successful project. Most of the construction companies are working in Pakistan and worldwide.
Usually the project is managed by project manager and the main construction job is done by design engineer, construction engineer, or by an architect. The core hierarchy of a construction company is given below.


Managing Director:
A Chief Executive Officer or most senior management in a corporate In charge of managing a for-Profit organization

Finance department deals with the allocation of assets and budgets.

A person who deals with cost, money, sales and relationship with particular customers. Account managers serve as an interface between the customer service and the sales team in a company.
Procurement and Estimation
Procurement department manages the acquisition of products, goods and raw materials from an external source and make sure that product is of good quality, reached in time and budget. Estimation department manages the estimate of cost, products and labours.

A person with experience of typically 8 to 10 years In Procurement and Estimation department
Sales
Sales Department deals with the techniques of sales management and sales operations. It deals with sales, profits, losses, revenue, market shares and such other business variables.

Production
Production department is responsible for the production of products from raw materials. Production department usually manages the quantity and quality of the products.
Director of Production
A person with experience of typically 8 to 10 years in marketing department
Marketing Department
A marketing department is involved in the promotion of your business and ensures the end to end delivery of your products and services. It helps a company to attract more and more customers and increases the revenue.
Marketing Manger
A person with experience of typically 8 to 10 years in marketing department
Human Resources
HR department manages the employees in a company. It includes payrolls, hiring, firing and updating the record of employees.
Production Engineer
A person having knowledge of production engineering with basic management rules
Site Supervisor
Manages and supervises the operational level tasks of construction.

Small Renovation Contractors:
These companies usually work on a project that requires a minimum work and capital. Usually they work on small home and office projects.
General Contractors
These Constructors usually takes new projects and work on commercial projects, public projects and private projects.
Owner-Builder
This type of company is usually not a strict contractor, works for its own projects. Build projects but sell them for rents etc.
Real Estate Developer:
This type of constructor may own a building but can sell it after or before its completion.
Professional Construction Manager:
These are the sub employees of the owner and work on the name of owner, usually called agents of an owner. Does all basic work like sales, production, human resources, marketing etc? All the financial assets are stored and hired in the name Of Owner.
Program Manager:
This is the general contractor that extends its work by undertaking program management. Work Includes demolition of existing buildings, the acquisition of a new site, hiring workers and other design professionals on behalf of the owner, performing the planning stage; advertising, financing and payrolls, supervising and helping to administer.
Package Builders:
Such companies offer contract for both design and construction of a building, in addition, also works on acquisition of land and financing of the project.
Sponsor Builder:
Sponsor builders has given the responsibility for planning a project, designing of a building , construction of building, rent management, and maintenance. A sponsor guides a customer throughout the project.
